Another report card for one of Prince George institutions is out. Statista, a research group (they gather all the data) partners with Newsweek (they’re the mouthpiece) has ranked hospitals around the world. The good news for us in PG is…we’re not last. Bad news is we came in 84th out of 85. But how many involved in the survey have been a patient at UNHBC? They ranked the hospitals based on;

– Recommendations from medical experts (doctors, hospitals managers, health care professionals)−

– Results from patient surveys−

– Medical KPIs on hospitals

Ozzy is hurting and has postponed his tour.His recent fight with pneumonia has triggered some weakness from past injuries from his ATV accident in 2003. He’s being treated by his doctor and is very disappointed about not being able to tour. He was scheduled to play Edmonton July 7th & Vancouver July 9th.

Says OZZY: “I can’t believe I have to reschedule more tour dates. Words cannot express how frustrated, angry and depressed I am not to be able to tour right now. I’m grateful for the love and support I’m getting from my family, my band, friends and fans, it’s really what’s keeping me going. Just know that I am getting better every day…I will fully recover…I will finish my tour…I will be back!”
The shows will be rescheduled beginning in February 2020 and concert-goers are being asked to hold onto their original tickets, as they will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Because some of the 2019 dates were festival appearances, not all will be rescheduled. Below are the new North American dates; the Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl show will be rescheduled in July 2020, exact date TBA. The 2020 UK and European dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

It’s the new bear resistant garbage can!

The City is introducing a pilot project to test out some bear resistant garbage cans. They really are, this is not an April Fools joke. The cans are supposed to be hard for bears to open but easy for us. Like the metal cans at campgrounds. They also work with the automated garbage system. So the test area shown below, will get their new bear resistant bins Monday April 15th.

The pilot project includes the following streets within the Croft neighbourhood:

Croft Road
Dunbar Place
Erickson Street
Glade Road
Hepting Road
Ingala Drive

Kim Place
Lehman Street
Monterery Road
Oakridge Crescent

Today is International Carrot Day…really they have a day for carrots! It is a magical vegetable. I mean when you roast them and they turn into such sweet candy like vegetable. So when I mentioned this to Carol and she told me about the…ready for it…Carrot parade in PG for the BCNE in where she was the…wait for it…The Carrot Princess. See the proof in the pics below. So celebrate the mighty carrot today. As Carol says “Munch’em Crunch’em Eat’em Beat’em Gooooo Carrots!”

The Eagles are going to play Las Vegas in September. They’ve announced two gigs at the MGM Grand where they will play the entire Hotel California album for the first time ever. The line up of Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, with Deacon Frey and Vince Gill, will play the MGM Grande Garden Arena September 27^th and 28^th. Tickets go on sale April 12^th at 10 am. There is an American Express pre-sale Monday morning at 10. They start at $179.

This is a very bold move. Nova Scotia is planning organ donor legislation that automatically makes you an organ donor. You can opt out but you have to request it. The city is advertising on our Garbage cans? And we have to get them out this morning so the ads can be slapped on them. This will offset our taxes by over a million a year. More good news, if you put your can out in the Green Zone they’ll also empty them this morning. As you may have guessed…
