Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen is taking Walter Becker’s estate to court to try and keep the band’s name alive. The “Hollywood Reporter,” says in 1972 the band created a Buy/Sell Agreement, which stated that when a member of the group quits or dies, the remaining members purchase all shares in the group. But Fagen says that four days after Becker’s September death, the estate sent him a letter informing him that the agreement “is of no force or effect” and demanded Becker’s widow get 50% ownership in the group. Ciro won our family pass to Festival of Trees and told us the story of when he was just a kid his Mom thought she could slowly feed their old real tree into the fireplace and burn it. He said when it quickly started to spread to the rest of the tree, she quickly dragged it out of the house with no damage or injuries. Just a great story to tell 35 years later.
Rory sent this pic of a real tree with real, retro lighting. Yup open flame candles just like the olden days.
