Sales of Tom Petty’s surged after his death Monday. Four days before his death, Petty songs averaged about 950 sales. That went to 60,000 on Monday. The biggest selling song is “Free Fallin.” It went from 111 copies the day before Petty’s death to 7,981 on Monday. And the University of Florida will pay tribute to Tom Petty. He worked as a groundskeeper there at one time. The team will play “I Won’t Back Down” at the end of the third quarter in their game with L-S-U tomorrow in Gainesville.
The Moody Blues happy about being nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They say they know it means a lot to their fans, and the band. The Zombies sum up their feelings in their hashtags: #TheZombiesRRHOF #3rdTimesTheCharm #ThisWillBeOurYear RockHall2018.’ 16 other acts are nominated: including Bon Jovi, Eurythmics, Dire Straits, and The J. Jimmy Buffett’s next album is titled “Buried Treasure” and it kind of is. Someone found 125 songs that Buffett recorded as demos in 1969. They were found after producer Buzz Cason sold his studio a few years ago. Jimmy said the recordings were “literally buried in a closet in a recording studio in Nashville for decades.” “Buried Treasure” is out November 17th.
