Neil Young recorded his 1976 acoustic album “Hitchhiker” in a single day, but it’s beensitting in Young’s vaults for more than 40 years….But Neil says it’s coming out September 8th. It has a couple 40 year old ‘new songs’ or songs we’ve never hear before, “Give Me Strength” and “Hawaii” other versions of some songs heard on his album ‘Rust Never Sleeps.’ Click the pic for the story from Rolling Stone.
Funeral services will be held this Friday in Seattle for Keyboard player Goldy McJohn. He was one of the Canadian founding members of Steppenwolf. Goldy died last week of a heart attack. He was 72.
Director John Landis is promising “a rather shocking surprise” in the upcoming 3-D version of Michael Jackson‘s video “Thriller” He’ll show us what that surprise is when he debuts the new version at the Venice Film Festival in a couple weeks.

Dustin Hoffman is 80.
It was in 1980 that Dustin won his first Academy Award — nabbing the best actor statuette for his role in custody drama “Kramer vs. Kramer.” He won the Oscar again in 1989 for “Rain Man.”
