Some Music News;
The Eagles and the Doobie Brothers are set to play New York’s Citi Field this weekend as part of The Classic East festival, and apparently they like working together so much that they’ve booked another gig. The two acts are teaming up for a one-off concert, named “The Classic Northwest,” which will take place at Seattle’s Safeco Field on September 30th….AND…. Don Henley celebrated his 70th birthday on stage in his hometown of Dallas this weekend. He sang “Leather and Lace,” with Stevie Nicks and “Boys of Summer,” and Patti Smyth for their 1992 hit “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough.” …..Timothy B. Schmit sang “I Can’t Tell You Why,” and Joe Walsh joined him for “Rocky Mountain Way.” Then everyone came out and sang The Beatles’ “Birthday” for him.
During Roger Waters’ concert at Chicago’s United Center, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder joined him on stage to perform Pink Floyd’s hit song, “Comfortably Numb.” Check it out
A couple of guys using their fame for good…Bono met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris yesterday to talk about ways to eliminate extreme poverty, particularly in Africa. They also discussed education for girls and the refugee crisis in Europe.
Roger Daltrey of The Who visited young cancer patients at Rainbow Babies Hospital yesterday. He’s a longtime supporter of teen cancer treatment charities and he co-founded Teen Cancer America.
And Justin Bieber has called off the rest of his tour, including two shows in Toronto, “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
The tour has been going on for the last 18 months. The tour was scheduled to go through at least October.

We’re playing High Low for Guns ‘N Roses 3 times a day on The Drive.
Qualifiers win a $25 gift certificate to Central Builders and the Grand Prize Winner gets tickets to Guns & Roses Friday September 1st and accomodations at the Rosedale on Robson Suite Hotel. We’ll play High Low at our Grand Prize Party at the Treasure Cove Casino August 10th. We’re playing it after 8 this morning on Doug & Wendy.
Weird stuff…In Korea, there’s a man named Lee Jin-gyu who fell in love – and married – his life-sized Japanese body pillow (called a “dakimakura”).
Exploration Place is Free to evacuees which is cool. Something else that’s cool is The Little Prince train is restarting this Thursday at 12 noon at Fort George Railway in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. It is not free for evacuees but it is reasonably priced.

You think this guy has anger issues. He goes, as the label on the video says, ‘Ape$%#.’ This video is going viral and is not be suitable for all audiences as there are a few F-bombs and the whole nature of the altercation is quite aggressive. But ‘Simon’ the dad gets the gold medal for restraint.
