Some fans of David Bowie are trying to raise enough money and support to erect a lightning bolt statue where Bowie was born. The group is called This Ain’t Rock’n’Roll and the statue they’re planning is 3 stories high and they plan to put it in Brixton, London near where Bowie was born. If you have the $1.2 million they need you can drop it here …Oh and they need it by March 21st …so chop chop.
Aerosmith, Placebo, The Cranberries, System of a Down and Prophets of Rage will all join headliner Pearl Jammer’ Eddie Vedder for the first-ever Firenze Rocks Festival, in Florence, Italy. Grace Slick is going to help build an LGBTQ organization and make corporate America pay for it. She’s letting Chick-fil-a (not a gay friendly organization) use Jefferson Starship‘s 1987 tune, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” in their ads. And she’s going to use the money she gets from the ads to help fund . Lambda Legal, the largest national legal organization working to advance the civil rights of LGBTQ people, and everyone living with HIV. Slick says “Chick-fil-A pisses me off.” Chick-fil-a has a well-documented history of funding organizations, through their philanthropic foundation WinShape, that are against gay marriage.” Nicely played Grace…nicely played.
