They’ve moved passed their issues, including frontman Billie Joe Armstrong‘s on stage meltdown back in 2012 and the stint in rehab for substance abuse that followed. Now, it’s about the music. “We’re ready to rock,” drummer Tré Cool says. “All those health issues are behind us. We’re going into this record cycle with a lot of gratitude, a lot of humility. We just really do enjoy the s— out of being in a rock & roll band with our best friends.” He adds that they “went down and dirty” while recording but kept the fact that were working on a new album a secret. “We didn’t tell anybody that we were recording, except our wives,” Tre explains. “We gave ourselves enough time and we weren’t watching the clock. [That] took the pressure off.”

The previous record holder was an Elvis Presley recording that sold for $305-thousand.
Freddie Mercury’s home in England has been given an honorary blue plaque, which recognizes homes for historical and cultural luminaries. The plaque was dedicated in a ceremony on what would have been the Queen frontman’s 70th birthday. “Mum and I are so proud and pleased that English Heritage is honoring our Freddie with a Blue Plaque, and that he will be amongst other famous names forever,” Mercury’s sister, Kashmira Cooke says. “Secretly he would have been very proud and pleased too.”
Frank Zappa released over 60 albums while he was alive and another 40 have been released since his death in 1993. “ZAPPAtite,” a new collection due out later this month, is a selection of his “tastiest tracks” from throughout his entire career.
The album is divided into three courses: Appetizers, Entrees, and Desserts all put together by the late icon’s son, Ahmet Zappa, and “Vaultmeister” Joe Travers. “This isn’t a greatest hits album as Frank didn’t really have ‘hits,’ per se, nor is it a ‘best of’ since that would be an impossibility to fit so much awesome onto one disc,” Ahmet explains. “It’s a veritable smorgasbord of musicality for the curious and a buffet of favorites for the fans, ‘ZAPPAtite’ collects a cross section of my favorite songs composed by my dad, that lean more towards the rock side of his expansive repertoire. I hope you’re hungry because this meal for your ears rocks!”

The husband of Heart singer Ann Wilson has been charged with assault for allegedly attacking two teenage relatives during a Heart show outside Seattle last Friday. Dean Stuart Wetter is free on 10-thousand dollars bail after being charged with two counts of assault. Court records say the teens left a backstage area where they were watching the show to take a look inside Wilson’s new tour bus. Court documents say Wetter yelled at them when they left the door open, punched one of the boys in the head and grabbed both boys by the throats.
