When do the members of U2 sleep? The band has reportedly confirmed they’re working on a new album and will go out on tour next year. The album, expected to be called “Songs Of Experience,” is the follow up to U2’s 2014 album, “Songs Of Innocence.” “It’s not finished yet but you will like it,” Bono told fan page U2 en España. “In terms of lyrics it is stronger than [1983 album] ‘WAR’, it has more clarity.” He adds that the “second part of the tour is for 2017” but that we “might see a few things in September or October though.”
Add Ozzy Osbourne to the list of male celebrities who are reportedly battling sex addiction. Back in May, Ozzy and wife of 33-years Sharon Osbourne split after news of the rocker’s affair with hairstylist Michelle Pugh surfaced. Now, Ozzy and Sharon are back on track and a rep for the Black Sabbath rocker explains the affair was caused by Ozzy’s addiction, which he’s been dealing with for the past six years. Pugh doesn’t buy it. She claims her four years with Ozzy “felt like an old-fashioned romance. Being courted. I loved it.” Adding, “When I say he gave me the greatest love of my life, I mean it.” Meanwhile, Ozzy’s rep is quick to deny his client and his mistress had anything other than a physical relationship. “He is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their sexual relationship out of context,” the statement notes. “He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having sexual relationships with. Out of the bad comes good. Since his relationship with Ms. Pugh was exposed, Ozzy has gone into intense therapy.” The rocker is said to be “mortified” by his actions and what he’s done to his family and reportedly, “thanks God that his incredible wife Sharon is at his side to support him.”
- A “proud” Sharon talked about her husband’s diagnosis on “The Talk,” explaining, “he’s been going [to] outpatient for sex addiction for the last three months and after the tour … he goes into inpatient for three months.” “He’s working at it,” Mrs. Osbourne adds. “It’s hard because it affects the whole family and it’s quite embarrassing.”
- ONE MORE THING! It looks like Michelle Pugh is ready to fight. TMZ is reporting the hairstylist is suing Ozzy and Sharon’s daughter, Kelly Osbourne. Kelly tweeted Pugh’s phone number, writing “Anyone looking for cheap chunky LOW-lights a blow out and a b***job call [phone number].” She also accused her dad’s mistress of elder abuse. Now, Pugh is saying she was “slut-shamed, bullied and harassed” and that elder abuse comment was defamatory. It’s unclear how much she’s suing for, but Pugh claims she’s been emotionally damaged and lost business as a celebrity stylist.
A new live CD/DVD of Pete Townshend’s super group, Deep End, will be released September 16th. Deep End formed in 1985, featuring Townshend, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and session drummer Simon Phillips. The release will feature a concert filmed in Cannes, France in 1986 for the German TV series “Rockpalast at MIDEM.” The set list includes material from Pete’s solo LP “White City: A Novel. Face the Face,” as well as The Who classics like “Pinball Wizard” and “Won’t get Food Again,” with the DVD featuring a cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put a Spell on You.”
Fleetwood Mac may have gone on a world tour, but don’t expect much in the way of new music from the group. While Mick Fleetwood claims the band “has a huge amount of recorded music,” “very little” is with Stevie Nicks and he’s not sure what will come of it all. Fleetwood explains that the band is a “huge investment” and adds, quote – “Stevie has her own life and career and I think … you know, she just doesn’t want to spend the time right now.” He goes on to say the rest of the band is, quote – “quietly saddened,” but that he understands. The drummer says “there’s always a ‘could happen'” when it comes to a new Fleetwood Mac album and he assures fans there’s “dozens” of great songs waiting.
