Our hole is huge!!! But what would you expect of an intersection with 4 street names…Yes the intersection of Massey & Carney & 20th & Winnipeg has a massive sinkhole. It all started with a pothole on steroids in 2014. Then like ‘The Blob,’ Clifford the Big Red Dog, or the cost of any big city project, it grew. Then it did more of that…and again. It’s so big they’ve had to build an 87 thousand kilogram concrete chamber under the street to prevent the street from sinking. The hope is when the water gets to the chamber it’ll be so frightened, it won’t want to stick around and will flow away into the pipe system like good water is supposed to.
