Just announced Santana in Kelowna March 8th at Prospera Place! Tickets on sale Monday morning (Dec 11) at 10 at Live Nation. Although when we checked at 9:30 this morning they still hadn’t added the Kelowna date to the Live Nation site.
In case you missed it, on Friday Neil Young opened his online archives for streaming, for free. That’s all five decades of music. “We developed [the archive] to provide fans and historians with unprecedented access to all of my music and my entire archive in one convenient location,” Young writes in an intro. “This archive is designed to be a living document, constantly evolving and including every new recording as it is made.” Aside from all the music on the site there are also photos, videos, song credits and more all laid out in a cabinet that chronologically flips through Young’s entire catalog or via a timeline. The audio is great as well which is part of the sites purpose to promote Young’s Xstream streaming platform. Young also had a new album come out Friday, “The Visitor,” which is also available to stream on the site. For the moment the site is free, but will become a subscription-based at some point. In Gene Simmons’ recently published book, “On Power: My Journey Through the Corridors of Power and How You Can Get More Power,” Simmons says everyone would should be working weekends. From binge watching television to feeling “entitled” too many people want to enjoy the “perks” of being wealthy without putting in the work. “You take two days off every week and do nothing, if you even have a job,” Simmons says. “Times 52 weeks is 104 days.” Which Simmons feels is lost time that could be better-spent making money.
Instead of spending the weekends at brunches and just hanging out, Simmons proposes doing the following seven things:
- Observe what other successful people are doing and take notes.
- Begin planning for your future by writing down your goals and taking the necessary steps to achieve them.
- Continue to always educate yourself, whether it’s through school or first-hand experience.
- If you don’t have your first job yet, get one.
- Once you acquire a job, work hard enough so that your boss gives you a raise when you ask for one.
- If you already have a job, get a second one
- Figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life
He goes on to say that the advice is particularly important for millennials. “When you’re young, work every day,” he says. “Don’t take vacations unless you’re richer than I am.”
The Queen biopic, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, has been put on hold due to the “unexpected unavailability” of director Bryan Singer. Singer failed to return to set after the Thanksgiving holiday break. “Twentieth Century Fox Film has temporarily halted production on Bohemian Rhapsody due to the unexpected unavailability of Bryan Singer,” a statement from Fox read in part. According to sources, producers are nervous about the state of the production and talking about potentially replacing Singer. A rep for the director says “a personal health matter concerning Bryan and his family” is to blame for his absence. Others say, there have been various challenges to filming the biopic. Insiders have said producers had grown tired of Singer’s behavior, which included him routinely showing up late to set. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is set to hit theaters Dec. 25th, 2018.
