Did you know that TV is 90 today. Yup it was old Philo T. Farnsworth, who didn’t get invited to a lot of parties because of his funny name and the fact that everyone else felt stupid around him. Philo had a big day Sept. 7th, 1927. On that day he sent out the first electronic T-V signal. Philo died in 1971. Ironically he’ll be honoured on …a webcast streamed from the original location of his San Francisco lab. Click the pic of Philo to go to the site.

Kate Middleton is pregnant again? So when did…’it’ happen…Was it while they were here?…Unfortunately no. They were here a year ago. One website guesstimated she’s due in March so that would make it around June of this year when ‘it’ happened. And that could’ve put them at a royal garden party at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland. I think it was the sexy hat that Kate was wearing. You judge for yourself. (Is is really a hat or a really big cinnamon bun?)
The Stephen King thriller ‘It’ is out today. Here’s the trailer.
Some Music News;
Hey did you know U2‘s new album “Songs of Experience” was influenced by the politics of the world? What a surprise…lol. Bono “The elections were a shock to the system personally and a shock to the system politically, not just in America but in Europe.” He says “This is my lyrical response to both of those shocks. I leaned more on the personal than the political, but the political is there to put the personal songs in the context of time, of history.” Once again here’s the video for “” the first song for the new album “Songs of Experience” out December 1st.
Steely Dan’s Walter Becker died earlier this week. No cause has been given yet. The band had to cancel their Classic East and West performances in July because of Becker’s illness. His last show with the band was on May 27th in Greenwich, Connecticut. A fan recorded it. Check it out below.
8 Months after his death a new George Michael song is out. The song is called fantasy. The song was originally done in 1980 but was remixed and “funked up” by Nile Rogers It was supposed to be on Michael’s “Listen Without Prejudice” in 1990 but for whatever reason just didn’t make it. Check it out below.
Phil Rudd yes the former AC/DC drummer who pleaded guilty to charges of threatening to kill and possession of marijuana and methamphetamine and was sentenced to eight months of home detention, is releasing a new single. It’s called “Sun Goes Down.” Calling it new is also a bit of a crime as the song is from his first solo album from 2014. That’s the album that started his problems. He had some problems with that album and the way it was promoted that led Rudd to allegedly threatened to have his personal assistant killed. The song is out September 21st, right in the middle of Rudd’s European tour. He hits the road next week.
