The Stones have a new video!…for an Old song.
So Bonnie Tyler sings “Total Eclipse of the Heart” on a cruise ship during the eclipse and song sales go nuts and it hits number 13 on the on the Digital Songs Sales chart this week. It got 31,000 digital downloads. The song hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1983 with no help from the sun. But it wasn’t the only one that got some solar help. Pink Floyd’s “Eclipse,” Cat Stevens’ “Moonshadow,” Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s “Blinded By The Light,” The Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun,” Credence Clearwater Revivals’ “Bad Moon Rising,” and Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” all had increased downloads.
Tickets for Bruce Springsteen’s Broadway debut went on sale yesterday it was complicated with fans having to use a code and some didn’t get tickets. But the good news., the Boss has extended he show “Bruce On Broadway” to ten weeks from 8. The whole code thing was to try and keep tickets out of scalpers hands but it didn’t work and some ticket prices hit $7,500.
U2 has dropped a song off the upcoming “Songs of Experience.” The band also released a video for the “The Blackout,” which features the band performing the song for a very pumped crowd. The first official single from “Songs of Experience,” “You’re the Best Thing About Me,” will be released on September 6th.
