Wow was contestville this morning! We played the Mini Super Bingo contest for a Bingo night out tomorrow at the Treasure Cove Casino. Dale was the correct caller and picked up our Bingo package. Gregg Allman’s final album “Southern Blood” is set to drop September 8th and now a new track from the record has been released. The song is a cover of “I Love The Life I Live,” which was written by Willie Dixon, and previously recorded by such artists as Muddy Waters and Willie Nelson. The tune is one of several covers on the album, whch also features songs made famous by Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne and Jerry Garcia.
Bob Seger can blow the roof off his September 23rd concert, because the venue will close after he’s done. The Palace of Auburn Hills outside Detroit will shut its doors after Seger plays there. It was the home of the Detroit Pistons for 29 years, but the Pistons will move to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The Detroit Red Wings will play there too. What happens to the Palace has not been determined.
The much anticipated Tragically Hip documentary, Long Time Running will be making its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in cinemas across Canada beginning September 14th .
Lady Gaga is giving a sneak peek into the documentary about herself that comes out on Netflix on September 22nd. One clip from “Gaga: Five Foot Two” shows her in a doctor’s office while a voice talks about the intense pain in Lady Gaga’s face. Another shows her as she’s lifted on wires before her Super Bowl halftime performance. A third shows her underwater while she tearfully says she goes from people touching her all day and then being alone.
