Here’s some of the latest information from the City of Prince George for the evacuees in our city and links to some of the other topics Doug & Wendy talked about this morning.
Residents of 100 Mile House – and adjacent areas including 108 Mile and Lac la Hache – are heading home after their evacuation orders have been downgraded to an evacuation alert. For the rest of the 9,000 plus evacuees in PG there is another town hall meeting tonight at 5 at the UNBC Canfor Theatre. It will be simulcast at the Northern Sports Centre and at CNC room 1-306. It will also be live streamed HERE. If you need transportation, they’ve got you covered.
Buses will be leaving the College of New Caledonia and the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre this afternoon at 1:00pm and bringing area evacuees to the South Cariboo Recreation Centre where a resilience centre has been established to provide additional re-entry support for residents. The return trip to the South Cariboo is requiring that travellers first head east along Highway 16 before turning south on Highway 5. This route is expected to take about 7 hours.
Remember evacuation orders remain in effect for other parts of the Cariboo, including Williams Lake, McLeese Lake, and 150 Mile House, and re-entry into those areas remains restricted. Residents of places still under evacuation order should remain in Prince George until they are informed that it is safe to return home.
- And here’s a fun fact. 8 Children have been born in Prince George to mom’s who are evacuees.

Other stuff we talked about this morning;
Here’s the link to the Calgary vet who went to see the movie Dunkirk on the weekend. He was there for the real thing 77 years ago! Click HERE for the story.
And today is Cousin’s Day. To get a handle on all that ‘Cousin once removed’ stuff, check out the chart HERE.
