According to Brian May of Queen, when David Bowie and Freddie Mercury went into the studio to record 1981’s “Under Pressure,” it wasn’t entirely friendly. He said Bowie was very forceful but the friction was part of what made it turn out so great. Now he also went on to tease there may be some unheard recordings from those sessions and says “not all of what we did in those sessions has ever come to light, so there’s a thought.” Not nice to tease Brian! Did you know Pete Townshend is a Belieber. He did an interview with “Variety,” and here are some quotes. “I think that we hand ourselves to Justin Bieber; and he’s a good guy, he does his best to entertain us, what’s important is not Justin Bieber, and I think he probably would agree with me, it’s that we are ‘Beliebers.’” He says, “It sounds a bit preachy, but that we stand together in his presence.” Ya…I don’t know what he means either. But he did say something easier to understand.. “I’ve been working on a new piece a long time, I don’t want to say too much about it, but I do feel that whichever way I want it to go, do it with a hillbilly band, dance band, rock band or full orchestra, all the doors are open for me.”
Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle was in production on a biopic about the bands 1977 plane crash. The band and the estates of the Skynyrd members killed in in the crash are suing him. Apparently Artimus and the rest of the band signed a consent order in 1988 regarding the incident…He doesn’t have the consent of everyone who’s signed so they want it stopped. The 1977 crash killed original band members Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines, backing vocalist Cassie Gaines, an assistant road manager, and the two pilots. Vince Gill is excited about playing with The Eagles. He’ll play with the band for a couple of shows in July. Gill says if the Eagles decide to tour he’s in.
