Bob Dylan will finally get his Nobel literature diploma and medal this weekend. He’ll be in Stockholm for concerts Saturday and Sunday. But he won’t be doing his required his Nobel lecture. He’ll record it (and probably have an audio engineer type tweet it at bit) and send it in later. Nobel Laureate Bob plays CN Centre July 22. More on Bob below…look way down.

Charlie Watts is going to release a live big band album with the Danish Radio Big Band featuring standards, originals and Rolling Stones covers. Yup they’re gonna ‘bossa nova’ Satisfaction and big band ‘Paint it Black.’ The album drops April 21st and is available for pre-order now.
This is bizarre….Aerosmith is pausing their “Aero-Vederci Baby!” Why? To head into the studio and record new music. So you’re on stage and saying ‘hold on a minute, I’ve got a new song in my head and I have to go a record it right now.’ ‘I’ll be right back….don’t go away.’ Joe Perry says “One of the reasons we postponed [the American] tour was to give ourselves some time to get something done,” and “We definitely have another record in us, if not two. A very cool bit of rock history has been sold. The mixing board used to record Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ was auctioned off for $1.8 million. The were expecting $700,000. They haven’t revealed the buyer. The full story at Rolling Stone
Bob Dylan’s massive archives are now open at the Helmerich Center for American Research in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but it’s only open to folks with qualified research projects, and you have to submit a Research Associate application, along with a list of relevant items you want to see. Eventually they’ll be available to us peasants but they’re not saying when. Full story at Bob Dylan
