A big night at New York’s Beacon Theatre. It was ‘The Concert Across America to End Gun Violence.‘ Jackson Browne played Bruce Springsteen’ “American Skin (41 Shots.)” He was backed by a choir. The song is about an unarmed man, Amadou Diallo, who was killed in New York by police in 1991.

Joe Walsh has a new song out. He wrote it for the documentary ‘No Man’s Land’ about U.S. military serving in the middle east. The producers used GoPro Cameras attached to helmets of the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team during their deployment in Afghanistan. Van Morrison has a new album out Friday. It’s called “Keep Me Singing.” He starts a new tour October 9th. He’s touring because he says it’s like breathing to him and …he fricken needs the money. In an interview with Rolling Stone Morrison says “I’ve been doing a lot of touring in the past several years because I need the money. I was running out of money, paying for a lot of stuff. Were are you gonna put a statue to honour the late Glen Frey. How about Winslow Arizona….perfect. It’s famous for it’s mention in the Eagles song ‘Take it Easy’ and that’s where the $22,000 sculpture is going. They unveiled it to kick off Winslow’s annual “Standing on the Corner” music festival. Oh and a couple of radio announcers, Mark Devine and Paul “NeanderPaul” Marshall helped pay for it. They’re good guys!
