Are Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne reconciling? Maybe. TMZ has published pictures of the estranged couple going for a stroll together in Los Angeles. This comes after Sharon was spotted at one of Ozzy’s recent Black Sabbath concerts. Sharon is still Ozzy’s manager, so it’s possible this is all business related. We’ll keep you posted if and when the former couple,who called it quits back in May following Ozzy’s alleged affair, make any sort of statement.
Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen both paid tribute to Suicide singer Alan Vega who, as we told you, passed away over the weekend at age 78. During their set at the Pemberton Festival in Canada, Pearl Jam covered Suicide’s “Dream Baby Dream,” while The Boss, who covered the tune on his 2014 album, “High Hopes,” wrote a tribute to the Vega on his Facebook page. “The bravery and passion he showed throughout his career was deeply influential to me,” wrote Bruce. “I was lucky enough to get to know Alan slightly and he was always a generous and sweet spirit. The blunt force power of his greatest music both with Suicide and on his solo records can still shock and inspire today. There was simply no one else remotely like him.”
Sting is headed back to his rock roots. The former Police frontman is currently at work on his new CD “57th & 9th,” which he says will sound different from solo records he’s released in the past. “It’s not a lute album,” he says tells “Rolling Stone,” an apparent crack about his 2006 album, “Songs From the Labyrinth.” “It’s rockier than anything I’ve done in a while. This record is a sort of omnibus of everything that I do, but the flagship seems to be this energetic thing. I’m very happy to put up the mast and see how it goes.” One song on the album, “50,000,” was written following Prince’s death in April. “It’s really a comment on how shocked we all are when one of our cultural icons dies: Prince, David [Bowie], Glenn Frey, Lemmy,” he says. “They are our gods, in a way. So when they die, we have to question our own immortality. Even I, as a rock star, have to question my own. And the sort of bittersweet the sort of bittersweet realization that hubris doesn’t mean anything in the end.” So far there’s no word on when “57th & 9th” will be released.
Elton John has reportedly settled a sexual harassment lawsuit brought by a former employee. The unidentified man said he was fired by Elton last year, and sued for unfair dismissal and sex discrimination, which included allegations of sexual misconduct. Well, now, after Britain’s Court of Appeal lifted reporting restrictions on the case, it’s been revealed that Elton settled the case for a reported six figure sum back in February and the former employee withdrew his suit. “The claims were always strongly denied and we continue to deny them,” a statement to “The Sun” read. “Sir Elton John is pleased that the former employee withdrew the claims in full and that the issue was settled in February this year.”
Fans at Paul McCartney‘s gig at Boston’s Fenway Park on Sunday were in for an special treat when Bob Weir came up on stage. The Grateful Dead rocker joined Macca and performed the Wings song, “Hi Hi Hi,” along with The Beatles classic, “Helter Skelter.” Believe it or not, this marks the first time the former Beatle has shared the stage with a member of the Grateful Dead. During “Helter Skelter,” McCartney and Weir got some help from New England Patriots star player Rob Gronkowski also appeared on stage, dancing, playing a bit of air guitar, and even jumping on the mic.
