In a story from Consequence Sound. Billy Corgan and the latest lineup of Smashing Pumpkins are in the midst of a tour, but it looks like they may be working on some new music, too. Fan shot footage has surfaced from a VIP event in San Francisco of what appears to be a new Pumpkins song. We have no other details about the song, not even a title, but we’ll keep you posted if Corgan tells us where this song came from or might end up. In the meantime, check out the tune.
Bruce Springsteen returned to Madison Square Garden in New York Monday night to make up for a January show that got canceled because of a huge blizzard. The more than three-hour stop on Bruce’s “The River” tour featured several highlights, including an epic “Jungleland” and the tour premiere of “Meeting Across The River,” but those certainly weren’t the talk of the night. The highlight of the whole show had to be when cameras caught Bruce’s 90-year-old mother Adele rockin’ out at her seat to “The River” track “Ramrod.” The sight of mom’s moves amused Bruce so much that he left the stage to join her. The crowd went wild for the mother/son dance, especially when they turned around and did a little booty shaking together. Check it out.
In a story from TMZ. Elton John’s lawyers are vehemently denying accusations that the singer sexually harassed a former security guard, suggesting that the guy suing is overly litigious. In case you missed it, a man named Jeffery Wenniger filed a lawsuit against Elton saying that in 2014, he was riding in a car with Elton when the singer put his hands down Wenninger’s pants attempted to grab his genitals and more. The security guard says he tried to resist but it didn’t stop Elton. Well, Elton’s lawyer is insisting the accusations are nonsense. “These claims are patently untrue and contradicted by numerous previous statements made by this plaintiff,” said the attorney. “We will not give into his latest abuse of the legal system.” As for the comment about abusing the legal system, according to TMZ, Wenninger recently filed another lawsuit against a company he used to work for.
Several A-list performers are set to help Tony Bennett celebrate his 90th birthday and it will all be for a good cause. Keep Memory Alive’s 20th annual “Power of Love” gala will be a birthday celebration for the legendary singer and will feature stars like Steven Tyler, Darius Rucker, Andra Day, Chris Botti, James Corden, Diana Krall, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock and more, performing their take on Bennett’s classics. The “Power of Love” gala, taking place Saturday, May 21st at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, raises awareness and funds for Keep Memory Alive in support of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
