The Smashing Pumpkins have threatened to sue whoever leaked their old demos. The statement says they are unified and will press charges and file a civil suit when they find them. They believe it’s a former employee. You can read their statement here.
Police had earlier ruled the death of Lana Meisner, wife of Eagles co-founder Randy Meisner, an accident, despite the fact earlier in the evening she had called cops claiming her husband was threatening her with a BB gun. Well, it turns out the reason cops are so certain Randy wasn’t behind Lana’s death, is because there’s surveillance footage that shows exactly what happened. According to the website Radar Online, one source said “After cops viewed the tapes, it was obvious what happened. Lana was stumbling around in the hall closet. All of a sudden, one of the guns goes off, and she goes flying backwards.” They said it was gruesome and unsettling for even seasoned officers. You can read the full story on Radar’s site here.
Elton John is heading to the museum…sort of. Aside from being a musical icon, John is also an avid photography collector. According to Billboard, more than 150 images out of his whopping 7,000 photo collection are going on display at Britain’s Tate Modern. The gallery announced that the exhibition, “The Radical Eye,” will feature more than 150 images by “modernist masters of photography.” You have some time to buy you’re plane tickets- the exhibit doesn’t open until November 10th. Peter Frampton picked up a valuable lesson after his “Frampton Comes Alive!” album became a hit. He says he learned a pop star’s career is about 18 months, but a musician’s career lasts a lifetime. He says he morphed as quickly as he could into a musician. Frampton recalls his manager telling him that “Frampton Comes Alive!” outsold Carole King’s “Tapestry” album as the top-seller ever. He says he never thought he could ever approach that kind of success. Frampton’s collection of stripped-down hits, called “Acoustic Classics,” is out now.
