So riding up the elevator our contestants were chatting and apparently Renee was Jane’s nurse in ICU 20 years ago. She must have been pretty good because Jane gave Renee a big hug and thanked her again. Red and I did not hug…but were warmed by the story.
Then the carnage in the control room began as our three finalists; Renee, Jane and Red tore into their gingerbread houses. The icing and jube jube decorations flew. The engineers, fearful of sugar and crumbs careening into equipment crevasses stood by with shop vac in hand.
After the crumbs settled everyone had something in hand. Renee and Red with various GC’s for movies and dinner and Jane with the motherlode $500 of GC’s for Michael’s Jewellers and Hart Mall merchants. There were ensuing hugs and cheers. The happiest heart of all belonged to the control room mouse, thankful the shop vac is a piece of crap.
And tomorrow morning we’ll all think each other cleaned up the mess left behind.
