Canada Day activities in Prince George will centre around Lhedli T’enneh Memorial Park. Opening ceremonies begin at noon the the cutting of a massive birthday cake. It’s followed by hours of multicultural entertainment at the bandshell. And ethnic food booths will be located through the park. Fireworks wrap up the night at 11.
Dominion Day is celebrated at Huble Homestead tomorrow and begins with a buck-fifty pancake breakfast at ten. There will be ice cream making, butter making and blacksmithing demonstrations through the day along with plenty of pioneer games.
Prince George Fire Rescue is set to unveil it’s new book Frozen Flame. It documents 100 years of firefighting in the city. A few hundred copies go on sale Canada Day at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. Proceeds from the 40-dollar book go to the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund. The launch begins at 9 A-M.
Barkerville is also celebrating ‘Dominion Day’ with some crazy activities like the greasy pole climbing contest, funny face contest and lots of entertainment. They also plan some fireworks. Here’s a link to the Barkerville website.
